Born a 45-minute drive to the New York state line, Tony Vineberg grew up in Montreal listening to Soul, Blues, Classical, and Jazz, listening to tracks by Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, and others from his father's record collection. He was inspired to pick up the guitar by his then-brother-in-law, a Calypso singer, guitarist, songwriter, and co-founder of the well-known Barbadian group, The Sandpebbles.
